I had very low hopes for this device. I had bought another one a year ago that did absolutely nothing. A couple weeks ago my dog jumped on the sofa and hurt his back and was in excruciating pain so I went ahead and ordered this as the last resort. The second I put it on him he yawned and laid his head down and rolled over on his side, fully relaxed. We,re going on almost 2 weeks now and I can tell he,s feeling better and better and more mobile than he was even before his minor injury. I do 220 minute sessions on the PW setting in the morning and in the evening . This thing works!.

I have used red/infrared light therapy before on my canker sores and it seems to actually work. I usually take about a week to heal a canker sore and using a red light therapy I was healed within 2 days. This ZJZK device is different but has a similar concept. It is a cold laser therapy aka low-level laser therapy (LLLT). It says to hold it directly onto our skin without clothing covering or distance from skin. It came with protective tinted blue glasses. It blocks the red light well. Much better than sunglasses. However, since I use it around my ears/jaw, it can,t block the light completely on the sides. I felt paranoid so I just kept my eyes closed when necessary. It also came with a USB charging cable and wall plug. The cord was surprisingly long. Around 9-ft! Very generous.The display screen doesn,t seem to have an automatic shut-off. The red light therapy does turn off though at whatever time I set. Hard to know when it,s fully charged or charging since there,s no light indicator when the LED screen is turned off. The buttons and screen are very simple to read and understand. The manual provides a good guide. It lists symptoms with the suggested treatment time, mode, and power. There are 2 modes: pulsed (PW) and continuous (PW). They recommend mostly using pulse over continuous. However, for nerve regeneration it is recommended to use continuous mode. 4 power levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. Time settings range from 1 to 60 minutes.The hard part is holding it in place for 20 minutes (or longer). However, you can pause the red light and resume. I like to multi-task so it,s a little inconvenient but worth it if it heals me. Right now it's too soon for me to tell if it,s effective. My condition is quite severe. Booklet says it,ll take about 4 weeks to feel the benefit with consistent use (1-2 times a day). I will try my best to use it regularly and update my review in the future. So far, I don,t really have any complaints besides I wish it came with a drawstring pouch or case for storage. I should also add that the device gets heated around 15 minutes. It's tolerable to continue using but for those with really sensitive skin it might affect them.-Made in China-----------------*UPDATE/EDIT*I started experimenting with Continuous (CW) mode and my skin couldn't tolerate it. My skin started itching and stinging. It started happening toward the end of the treatment when the device got warmer. I wasn't sure if it was that particular skin area since I do have some pimples there. However, it's fine when I use PW mode. Sometimes I do 10mins PW and 10mins CW. I recently ordered another Cold Laser Therapy device but from a different company and I noticed it remains cooler than ZJZK throughout the treatment session. Not sure if that means ZJZK is worse quality or better for getting hotter.

My first impressions of this product:I had tested this cold laser therapy device on my wrist joint (as it was feeling a bit achy), for 2 days, 20 minutes at a time, with a 50% power setting; I could feel the gentle, radiating heat penetrating my skin. It felt good, was seemingly beneficial for both of the initial two applications and I had endured no ill side effects after utilizing it. The device is easy to use and easy to read. (The general consensus of cold laser therapy is that it is safe. It is also approved by the FDA.)I must confess, however, that I was a bit surprised to find that as this device was marketed for pets on Amazon (which had initially prompted me to order it), as the outer packaging doesn't allude to any of this and only when I had opened the pamphet within, did it provide vague images referencing its use on a dog. (They almost appear to have been added as an afterthought.) Nevertheless; that is not to discount the potential effectiveness of this device.I have reasearched cold laser therapy on both pets and humans and it is indeed a viable means for pain relief and regeneration. Time will tell, however, as therapy consists of the device's ongoing use and certainly longer than two days.I will update my review accordingly, after I finish with the recommended 4 week usage period. I also plan to try this device out on one of my dogs, who seems to have a bit of a "touch and go" ear irritation. Stay tuned!

I have been trying to find a red light therapy device that is convenient and can be easily used while I work, rest or play. The other devices I have tried, have been large and flat, difficult to aim and somewhat of a hassle to use. For instance, I would like relief on my neck, but its hard to aim a huge square or rectangular product downward on my neck without mounting it on a wall. This handheld device solves some of those problems, it is small and portable enough to aim onto the affected surface. It is not however, perfect. It is easy to hold the product and aim it onto my neck, but after some time (prior to the recommended 20 minutes), my arm tires. On a positive note, it can be propped more easily than the others I have tried. For instance, when treating my Achilles, I can prop the unit in my other shoe (even when wearing shows). I can also raise my feet up and lay the wand down on an area beside the wound/injury to be treated. It is definitely a step in the right direction and my plantar fasciitis seems to have responded. Regardless, the benefits of red light therapy are becoming better established as we do more research on the subject. Overall, I like the treatment, but feel it is a little expensive. And more needs to be done to encourage these products to be fixed in place and leaned or propped and malleable. I will not deduct a star for the price because it is a therapeutic device, and its hard to put a price on health.
